An access log is a detailed list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a particular Internet site. Every single file that was requested for whatever reason will be listed, so if you have one webpage with three embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for instance, the access log will contain a total of six entries - one for every of the six files that were accessed when the website visitor opened the webpage. A log normally contains the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s Operating System, Internet browser and IP address. Occasionally you may also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The data which an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It can be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to prepare reports on the performance of a site, independent of the web statistics that your web hosting server may have produced.

Enabling or disabling the logs becomes effective instantly, so if you no longer need one, you may stop it with a mouse click from the same exact section of the Control Panel. You shall still have the ability to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.

Our advanced web hosting platform will generate access logs for every single site hosted inside a semi-dedicated server
account, assuming that this feature is permitted. All domains and subdomains that you have shall be listed within the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, that we provide with all of the accounts, so if you'd like our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should just click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and switch the default Off option to On. You can deactivate this feature anytime by following the exact same steps. You'll find a Download link for each and every log in the very same section of the CP, so you can easily save the content gathered by our system in .txt format with no more than a mouse click. An existing log file can be downloaded even after the function has been disabled, so you'll still be able to see the data which has already been generated.
